Jessican & Chad - 9.25.10

I had the pleasure of working with this adorable couple, Jessica and Chad. They were so easy going and laid back! They came to me after they fell in love with my own wedding stationery suite, the black, ivory and apple green damask but of course wanted it to be their own with a twist. The wedding was held at the amazing and oh so charming Glen Foerd Mansion! If you haven't seen this venue yet you MUST check it out... I got to visit it recently for a Bridal Expo and was so amazed at it's old world charm, tons of space, and elegance.
Save the Date! They wanted a postcard save the date that incorporated their theme of green damask. They gushed over a latte shimmer stock which we incorporated into the rest of their stationery. Engagement photo by Suzanne Collier Photography.
When it came time to design their invites, we found a way to give new life to this green damask design, of course printed on the lovely latte shimmer stock. I think I may love it more then my own invite ;) All of the printing for the invite was done in raised thermography too.
The last element I did for their wedding was this awesome seating chart! This was my first go-round on a seating chart and if I must say so myself, I think it turned out awesome! As you can see the damask design is incorporated as a border with their monogram placed front and center.
Congrats to Jessica and Chad! Talk about a beautiful couple inside and out.

Wedding Tree Guestbooks

I have been admiring this idea from afar for quite some time now... so of course I wanted to share it with you. Wedding tree guestbooks!! This traditional guestbook alternative is a fun and interactive way for your guests to "leave" their mark on your special day (no pun intended). When the day has past, hang this one of a kind piece of art in your home to cherish for the years to come.

There are a couple ways of producing your wedding tree, below are some ideas I came across. Cute, right!?! Of course I would provide the tree print with a custom wedding monogram to match.
The trees above have a multi-color leaf design. These leaves are die-cut from different colored card stocks that have little permanent adhesive glue dots on the back of them (keep paper backing on each glue dot for ease of handling, when guest is ready to hang their signed leaf all they have to do is remove the paper backing and stick it to the tree! Simple as that. Glue dots brand are my recommended dot of choice and can be found at your local craft/office supply store.

Above are thumbprint tree designs; guests will stamp their thumbprint using provided ink pads (that won't leave ink on them after washing of hands) on an open tree branch and then sign their name next to it- and ta-da, your tree is complete!  Ink for these "fingerprint" leaves can be found at JoAnn Fabric.

Open House with Conner Catering at the Merion Tribute House!!!

I had the pleasure of attending an open house hosted by Conner Catering and the Merion Tribute House last week! They asked me to provide all of the menus, table numbers signs, and several other little paper treats for their guests to enjoy throughout the evening. Of course I accepted their invite and jumped into the project head first!

Their open house consisted of a cocktail hour for guests to mingle around the venue tasting several of their scrumptious hors d'oeuvres while asking any event related questions they may have for either Conner Catering or Merion Tribute House. Oh yes, I was there too! I was able to meet several Brides and Grooms and hear all about their wedding plans. I had my own display set up in their notoriously known stone vaulted two story ceiling foyer. Guests were able to look at my recent work up close and personal and ask any questions they may have for me.

In the Legion Room they had several cocktail tables for guests to stand at next to their "oh so tasty" martini bar. Both fireplaces were lit which gave the entire evening a cozy and elegant feel. After cocktails and hors d'oeuvres guests were invited into the ballroom for their three course dinner. Each table had a different theme to which I added to with custom designed menus and table number signs. After they scraped the very last crumb of chocolate cake accompanied with chocolate drizzled pomegranate sorbet they were able to leave at their leisure or stay to discuss more questions with the hosts.

All in all it was a lovely evening and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the couples that attended while catching up with Conner Catering and the Merion Tribute House! Here are some pictures from the custom stationery I provided, enjoy. All floral designs were provided by Fresh Designs Florist. (Stationery design (C) JW Impressions 2010)

Whitney English Clip Sheets on Oprah's Holiday Gift List!

One of my favorite products from my Paper Concierge shop, Whitney English Clip Sheets, was on Oprah's Holiday Gift List this year, again! These popular note sheets on a clipboard make great teacher gifts, stocking stuffers, hostess or bridesmaid gifts! They are also ideal for your own to-do lists, honey-do lists and grocery lists. A stack of 75 personalized 5x7 loose note paper comes with a clear acetate clipboard that measures just slightly larger. The set, as shown here with a grosgrain ribbon, will be placed inside a Whitney English signature box with tissue, meaning you will not even have to wrap this darling gift yourself!

Check out the Photo Clip Sheets too! Adorable!

Luminaries...

One of my Brides came to me with a decor idea for her wedding and asked for my help. She wants to put candle lit luminaries down the isle of her wedding ceremony. Gorgeous right! Now, the dilemma for me was to figure out how to give her a custom monogrammed luminary that, A) won't burn the place down, and B) actually have the design show through. Being the DIY girl that I am, I took this project on with open arms, even though I have never made these before, I am certain they will turn out spectacular and be an amazing addition to her wedding.

Check out these different types of luminaries... you can use them for table number signs, simple decor placed around your venue, down the isle, and even at each table in a cluster of different heights for added ambiance! Depending on the type of luminary, whether it's glass or paper you can use standard white tea lights or battery operated tea lights. Wish me luck ladies! Pictures of the finished product to follow...

Adria & Jim - 08.21.10

Adria and Jim came to me last year for their save the dates, their theme was dark purple and white, simple and elegant! Although I had never met them in person I was able to put together a Save the Date magnet design that they absolutely loved... the main star being a beautiful picture from their engagement shoot with Suzanne Collier Photography!

As we got closer to the big day they wanted to do their "Day Of" ensemble, as I like to call it, with a little more flair and design. Even though Adria still wanted to keep it on the simple and elegant side, I was able to come up with a design that fit right into the entire theme and feel of their wedding. Her flowers had lots of hydrangea in them... which is one of my favorite flowers to work with! HYDRANGEA I said! So we ran with it....

The first and foremost item was the program... Adria and I will laugh over it now, as it was quite the project! Check out their Full Catholic Mass bi-fold program with the hydrangea detail on the front (which carried over to the back where their thank you note was written).

Next on the list was their menu that was placed at each place setting. We carried out the hydrangea theme with their monogram. The printing method we used was raised thermography purple ink on a crisp white 105# smooth cover stock.

Lastly, the escort cards!!! As you know, this is my favorite piece to design out of all of the "Day Of" ensemble pieces. I thought, let's give it a little more punch then having their design on white tented cards... lets add a purple tented backer!!! Adding a backer card is probably my favorite thing to do to just about anything. I feel it just finishes off the piece. We used a variable imprint method that printed each guest name on each card instead of having a blank line to hand write the names. I loved the way these turned out... to me it screams simple, elegant and hydrangea! Don't you think!?!

Congratulations to the happy couple, Adria and Jim! It was a pleasure to work on their wedding stationery and I wish them nothing but happiness and love for years to come! Here's a peak of the fabulous Bride and Groom on their wedding day.
